Arlington, Texas (October 29, 2013) - Michael Baker Jr., Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker International, LLC (Baker), has been awarded a three-year, $7.2 million contract by the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA). The project involves providing engineering design services required for the preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E) for improvements to the Dallas North Tollway (DNT)/President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) Interchange in Plano, Texas.
The DNT/PGBT Interchange improvements will include widening of the existing interchange direct connectors; modifications of the main lanes and ramps along the DNT from the PGBT to south of Parker Road; relocation and electronic tolling of the existing DNT mainlanes entrance and exit ramps of Park Boulevard (two ramps); electronic tolling of the existing Plano Parkway entrance and exit ramps (two ramps); relocation of existing fiber-optic cable trunklines and laterals; the removal, relocation and addition of ITS elements; and maintenance of temporary communications and operation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and tolling elements.
